According to the Spanish Veterinary Health Alert Network (RASVE), over the last few months, the entry of live animals has continued to increase, even despite the limitations due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

In March, a total of 257,424 pigs were imported into Spain from other Member States, mainly from the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, France, and Portugal.

With this in mind, the importance of staying alert must be stressed, especially in regards to implementing adequate biosecurity measures in all pig holdings and animal transport.
